With over 2000 pieces of outstanding artworks by 280 artists from 48 countries, the real highlight of the art fair was the artistic supercar, the cross industry cooperation between Taiwanese artist Lee Sun-Don and the world top luxury supercar manufacturer DiMora Motorcar (known as American Rolls Royce). The luxurious hand-built “Neoclassic Artistic Supercar,” is the first case of cross industry cooperation between an Asian artist and the classic supercar, making its world debut in Taiwan. The supercar is not only a wonderful display of contemporary art but also showcases the stunning beauty of speed.

Asia's First Ever Cross-Industry Partnership between Artist and Classical Supercar

CEO, Sir Alfred J. DiMora of DiMora MotorCar, working with Taiwanese artist Lee Sun-Don, talks about how the cross industry collaboration first began.  Mr. DiMora was drawn into GP DEVA's flagship store in Beverly Hills, when he spotted the magnificent Great Treasure Gate series, with its explosive colors and lines, which are both Oriental and contemporary. This visit led to partnering with Professor Lee to combine his painting Great Treasure Gate with DiMora's forthcoming new supercar, the Vicci 6.2, in 2014, imbuing new elements of contemporary art into his neoclassic supercar creation.

Thinking about the Asian art world as a whole, whether it be Taiwan, China, Japan, Korea, or Singapore, no artist has attempted to this kind of cross-industry cooperation with a world class supercar. Taiwanese artist Lee Sun-Don became the first artist in Asia to undertake such cooperation.

When asked why he agreed to display his art on this particular automobile, Master Lee replied, "Classic and innovative, the DiMora Vicci 6.2 is by itself a work of art. What is more, this classic supercar, with its connotations of victory and conqueror, accords perfectly with the spirit of kingship and supremacy of my painting series, 'The Great Treasure Gate.'"

True Rolling Art

DiMora's limited edition 2014 model Vicci 6.2 Emperor I, integrates the latest 21st century technology, contemporary art, as well as the classic and elegant style of the 1930's, defining a new genre for the global automotive industry - “Neoclassic”.

This ultimate luxury neoclassic artistic supercar not only adheres to DiMora's classic retro model, but painted on the body of the supercar is artist Lee Sun-Don's pioneer totemic energy art series Great Treasure Gate, featuring multiple spots laced with 24K gold. The Vicci 6.2 properly showcases DiMora’s ultimate hand built technology and neoclassical artistic style.

Every Vicci is a one-of-a-kind edition accompanied by a different painting in the Great Treasure Gate series. Collectors will own two original pieces of art, one for the love of driving and the other to hang on the wall, creating true rolling art.

Exclusive High Tech Materials

The bodywork of “Vicci 6.2 Emperor I” is built with Carbon DiMora Fiber Design (DFD) exclusively researched and developed by DiMora. The alloy in a special proportion of carbon fiber and metals not only reduces the body weight (1279 Kg), but also increases the speed; the resilience is stronger and the anti-collision capability is greater than that of steel by 6 times. In addition, the innovative Alurock composite body makes the car lighter but stronger.

The firewall between driver's seat and the engine hood is made of carbon-fiber researched and developed exclusively by DiMora to enhance the anti-collision capability. Covered in 24 K gold, the firewall is fire proof and higly effective in blocking high temperature. The front and rear pumpers, made of Carbon DiMora Fiber, are specially designed to connect to the center of chassis. The shock absorber is added to reinforce the anti-collision capability. Modern Oriental Picasso

Taiwanese artist Lee Sun-Don is “totemic energy oil painting” pioneer, characteristic of mind-awaking aesthetics, and has been well received by the international art world. His painting, photography, sculpture and installation art have won 154 awards. Reputed as “Modern Oriental Picasso” by Il Tempo Roma (Roma Times Newspaper), he was the first Asian artist in a century to hold a solo exhibition at the 2009 Venice Biennale. The international authoritative art critic Professor Achille Bonito Oliva, in his artist critique published for Lee Sun-Don, referred him as "ultra-avant-garde artist" with depth and breadth of his art is comparable to the realm found in Kandinsky, Klee, Arp, Miro and Matisse and other masters!"

In 2010, Lee Sun-Don was invited to take the position of artistic director of the Art Revolution Taipei, where 216 artists from 22 countries were invited to participate. The art fair reached the sales rate of 89.66%, almost equal to the record of Art Basel! Art Director Lee once said, “My greatest pleasure is to breakthrough; challenging what has never been done." He has created 148 series of painting, photography, sculpture and installation art and has developed numerous unique techniques. Like CEO of DiMora Motorcar, Al DiMora's favorite Great Treasure Gate series, uses centuries-old antique lion door knockers as the theme of the series. The artwork not only celebrates traditional Chinese craftsmanship, but also created a new style of Oriental contemporary art, becoming "antique art” painting.

The Great Treasure Gate creations combines the vastness of eastern philosophy, immense sense of cultivation, plus aspects of literature and music. Lee's artwork emanates an emperor like demeanor, yet resonates a strong sense of freedom and liberation. If an artist can make an abstract painting into a representational work of art, then the Great Treasure Gate series is undoubtedly a major breakthrough in history of art ── using century old antiques, presented through contemporary art, it's incredible that we have reached this realm of art appreciation.

In this cross-industry cooperation with DiMora classic supercar, Lee Sun-Don demonstrates "Power of Art, Life of Creativity", while becoming the first person in the Asian art world to accomplish the cross-industry cooperation with the classic supercar!
