Having received honors in art from twenty juried international art exhibitions, and having been invited to exhibit in the world most prestigious Florence Biennale 2009, Italy, Professor Lee, the contemporary artist from Taiwan is to have the "Enchanting Moon – Lee Sun Don Totemic Energy Oil Painting" in Shandong Art Museum in the first half of August, following the exhibition in Shandong University of Arts in the early July. "Enchanting Moon – Lee Sun-Don Totemic Energy Oil Painting" is to exhibit sixty pieces of artworks from the series of Moon, Flower Persona, Fortune Grandpa, Poetry, Supreme Huayan, Secular World. The Moon series, after which the exhibition is titled, is one of Professor Lee's greatest breakthroughs. These works not long challenged the limit of painting techniques, but the moons were also created with strokes of 360 degree concentric circles in an uninterrupted painting process by Professor Lee working only with his strength of wrist. Professor Lee even further developed the innovative paint formula for the white color of the moon and the blue color of the base to mutually blend so as to create the unique dimensions of the moon! In the exhibition, "Flower Persona" and "Fortune Grandpa" are the two latest series created by Professor Lee Sun-Don. In the "Flower Persona" series, the sunflowers were expressed differently from the orchid grass flowers, in order to convey the inner world of the woman characters in the paintings. The "Fortune Grandpa" series, full of innocence and joy found in a child's mind, took the gold or the red joyful colors to present the blessings to the elderly. The most noteworthy among the displayed works is "The Sutra of Great Wisdom" under the "Supreme Huayan" series, which is composed of a thousand and more totems. "The Sutra of Great Wisdom" is the first of all the ten pieces under this series, and the first of this series to be exhibited in China across the Strait. Moreover, "Enchanting Moon – Lee Sun-Don Totemic Energy Oil Painting" includes the works that have been selected to exhibit in the "Florence Biennale 2009, Italy" and the "14eme Saloon International de Valmy, France". This exhibition provides a great opportunity for all people in China who love art to be able to appreciate in person these award-winning works created by a great contemporary art Master! Shandong Art Museum is oriented to plastic arts, reputed for it s collection and exhibition of art masterpieces. As for Jiangsu Provincial Art Museum, it has been the first national museum of the modern China. |
