History of Contemporary Artists Association:

In November, 1948, the Contemporary Artists Association combined the western painting section of "Japanese Writers Association" (an organization that included Western painting, Japanese Painting, Sculpture, and existed before World War II), with two other art groups: "The Contemporary Art Research Center" and "The Emerging Artists Association". It was formed to promote contemporary art with words and works. The Association held exhibitions twice times in the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and twice in Ginza - Mitsukoshi.

About The National Art Center, Tokyo:

The conception of The National Art Center, Tokyo is "The Museum among Trees". A joint project of the Agency for Cultural Affairs and the National Museums Independent Administrative Institution. It is the largest exhibition space in Japan today, focusing on serving as a venue for various art exhibitions. The National Art Center, along with the adjacent Mori Art Museum and the Suntory Museum of Art, has turned world-friendly Roppongi district into one of Tokyo's major art and culture centers.
