Art Exhibition in Milan and Rome, Italy
News Report in ROMA Daily News: Master Lee, Oriental Picasso of 21st Century

Time: July 25 ~ 27, 2007
Place: Milan, Rome

Invited by the well-known art dealer Antonio Miniaci in Milan, Italy, Master Lee held an impromptu art exhibition in Milan in July 25 and in the south of Rome in July 27 respectively. The two exhibitions drew great attention from the local art circle and were widely reported by IL TEMPO, ROMA, a daily Newspaper, on-line media, and the specialized art magazines. The media coverage acclaimed Master Lee from the East as the Oriental Picasso of 21st Century. Master Lee Sun-Don explained the elements of the unique “Totem” in his totemic energy oil paintings and did the impromptu painting demonstration, introducing this legendary artist from the East to people in Italy.

Gaetano Ricco, the Senior Art History Professor: Through his paintings, he tells of finding a method of enlightenment, in which it seems to give him the understanding of the essence of the universe. He understands that the essence of the universe could translate onto his canvas. Instead of worrying about how we Westerners perceive art, it becomes a medium to transmit to others the sense of mystery towards the universe. This should help his students and maybe others in the future to find themselves with the cosmic understanding that reigns over us.

Aldo Carrozza, Italian Art Critic: In other words what we have to understand is this art that the Zen Master wishes to bring is a path that allows us to better understand the teachings of Buddha through certain symbolism; and in order to free ones spirit and collect the true sense of everything, we might take the path of meditation. Through the paintings, we want to see the semantics, the meanings of the symbols.
