Having attained honors from thirty-six world major art exhibitions, the contemporary artist Professor Lee, Sun-Don was recently invited to have an individual exhibition in Gongwangfu (Palace of Prince Gong), which is a Nation's major cultural heritage site approved by State Council of the People's Republic of China. The works in display are mainly from "Awakening Series", taking "Threading between Illusion and Reality" as the theme of creation.

Gongwangfu has been the residence of Heshen, a favorite official of Qianlong Emperor of Qing Dynasty and later became the Palace of the Prince Yinxin of Qing Dynasty. It is thus said that a palace of a prince tells half of the history of the Qing Dynasty. In 1975, the then Prime Minister Chou Enlai ordered the renovation to prepare the palace for the public. As a vast project that started in 1978, underwent 28 years of soaring in the air and two years of restoration, the project works were finally completed and the palace reopened officially to the public in August this year. Gongwangfu is presently the only location that is open to the public among all other ten or more remaining imperial palaces in Beijing. Professor Lee Sun-Don is the first artist ever to have the individual art exhibition in the Palace of Prince Gong.
