Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers/RE, are both headquartered and have all their exhibitions held at the Bankside Gallery at the bank of the Thames River in London. Eleven historic societies that are privileged to put the word "Royal" before their titles exhibit only in two major galleries, one of which is Bankside Gallery. Therefore, Bankside Gallery is the dreamland of exhibition for all artists!
Besides the exhibitions organized by the Britain Royal societies, Bankside Gallery also have solo exhibitions of other non-member artists only if this artist is able to win a unanimous vote from all the Bankside Gallery's selection committee members elected from Britain Royal societies!
Summary of Bankside Gallery:
Situated by the Thames, facing the historic St Paul's Cathedral, adjacent to the well-known Tate Gallery, Bankside Gallery is one of the famous tourist attractions of London for historic art. More than eleven millions of tourists visit the banks of Thames every year. Bankside Gallery has the exhibition space of 200 square meter that houses all the exhibitions organized by the historic Royal Watercolours Society/RWS and the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers/RE. The members of these societies follow a 200 year old tradition of being elected by a group of their peers in an annual exhibition always held in Bankside Gallery.
Besides the RWS and the RE, Bankside Gallery also assists other distinguished societies to organize exhibitions, such as New English Art Club, Contemporary Japanese Calligraphy, International Lithography, etc. The proposal of having the individual or group exhibition in Bankside Gallery has to be approved in unanimity by all the selection committee members of the Bankside Gallery.
