Hotel-setting Art Fair is the new model of Art Fair that emerged in 2009, transferring exhibition from a traditional large-scale Art Fair to high-end luxury hotels, which have always been a gathering place for the top consumers who are also the targeted audience for the hotel-style Art Fair. The current Asia Top Gallery Hotel Art Fair 2010 has invited more than 70 top art galleries from Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Beijing and other major cities in Asia, presenting more than a thousand exquisite artworks, making this a classic Asian Contemporary Art Tour for both art collectors and art lovers from around the world. Soon after the "Lorenzo Medal" award at the Florence Biennale in December last year, the internationally acclaimed in artistic achievement, Professor Lee Sun-Don has been invited to participate in the exhibition, presenting his latest creative series: "EXIT" and sculpture, "Color Traverse Time". Lee Sun-Don's current center of his creations is based on the direct expression of the creative spirit from various "material", this concept is a breakthrough from the traditional notion that concept of content and idea is expressed via what is painted directly on the canvas. As for the Energy Totem Sculpture, "Color Traverse Time", Lee Sun-Don infuses the new life force into antiquity bronze objects of ancient Chinese history using Western oil paints. Each color sculpture is inlayed with tens of proportionally perfect, brilliant cupid- cut zircon stones, no longer just a replica of an antique bronze artifact of the history, but rather a contemporary artistic creation which possesses new colors, new life and new meaning. Furthermore, the color sculpture series simultaneously emerge as both ancient and modern, bringing out the classical royal quality making every piece a unique masterpiece on its own. |
