Professor Lee Sun-Don, pioneer of “Totemic Energy Oil Painting”, hailed as the “Modern Oriental Picasso” by the international media, is the art director of GP DEVA and Art Revolution Taipei art exposition. Of all exhibitors from Asia in the past century, Lee Sun-Don is the first ever to hold a solo oil painting exhibition in a personal pavilion at Venice Biennale in 2009. Achille Oliva, the most authoritative art critic in the international art world, praised him to be an all-rounded artists, that the depth and breadth of his works is comparable to that of Kandinsky, Klee, Arp, Miro and Matisse and other masters, being an “Ultra Avant-garde artist”.
Accepting the earnest invitation from the World Capital World, Professor Lee especially selected carefully the works from the series Wonderful Clouds, Exit, Treasure Gate, Utmost, Aman Kung Fu Boy and other works full of creativity, offering the viewers of the LA ART SHOW a very satisfying art appreciation experience! Of all the exhibited works, the “Wonderful Clouds” series shows the ever changing mountains and clouds, the serenity of quiet temples; what is depicted in the painting is the pure land in the heart of the artist and at the same time the Arcadia in the world.
The “Treasure Gate” series takes the antiques in China of hundreds of years old – the auspicious lion door knocker, to combine with unique modern paints, under Professor Lee's creativity imbuing new life and color to create a beauty connecting the ancient and the modern times. And the ordinary nets at your fingertips, through the artist's wisdom eye, were transformed into the amazing style of the “Exit Series” ─ the seemingly entangled net, a metaphor of annoyance and pressure, if being looked at from another angle, the exit appears suddenly right in front of the eyes, and the moment of finding that exit is exactly the most beautiful scenery in life!
